PCBA Manufacturing Engineer, Amazon Leo

Amazon is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of satellites. The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for bringing engineering designs for complex electronic assemblies to reality, working closely with design and manufacturing teams to optimize processes and improve product quality.

Responsibilities

Work with crossfunctional teams to reduce PCBA manufacturing challenges early in product development
Participate in the PCBA Manufacturing Qualification process at the CM. Assess manufacturing readiness requirements and lead key milestone reviews to ensure all production readiness deliverables are complete
Implement manufacturing technologies and methodologies to enhance PCBA quality, reliability, throughput, and cost
Working across teams, drive closure of operational issues during pre-production builds to optimize manufacturing processes
Investigate failures/defects in production, test, and integration. Support continuous improvement efforts
Identify opportunities for risk reduction and simplification of PCBA manufacturing processes
Actively monitor the success of products and processes through production ramp. Capture metrics and provide regular status reports of PCBAs progress from design to production

Required

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, material science, physics or equivalent
Experience in manufacturing, process, or industrial engineering
Experience with DFx (Design for cost, test, manufacturing)
Experience working in a fast-paced, team environment

Preferred

Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, evaluate alternatives and develop processes and tools as needed to support the organization
Knowledge of Six Sigma tools and Lean techniques
Experience in designing experiments and statistical analysis of results
Experience in board assembly processes and equipment: Stencil, paste print, SPI, pick & place, SMT reflow, AOI, 5DX, selective solder, flying probe, and wash
