Responsibilities
Lead a team of manufacturing engineers responsible for inline vehicle testing, End-of-Line, evac and fill, and torques. These resources support all Rivian manufacturing lines and sites and cover factory layout, manufacturing technology selection, equipment design, process design, etc
A special focus of this team will be advancing Rivian’s manufacturing technology and innovation roadmap
Conduct virtual builds, support design validation builds of next generation products and provide Design for Manufacturing and Assembly feedback, collaborating with vehicle architecture, design, software, and other upstream partners
Define and execute launch and ramp strategies, collaborating with operations team
Deliver production documentation such as JES, PFMEA, Control Plans etc
Develop and implement processes, standards and workflows to improve team efficiency
Actively mentor and grow manufacturing engineers and managers through technical leadership, translate vision into action, inspiring from ideation to execution
Actively engage in value engineering, challenge assumptions and break the status quo
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in engineering or similar technical field
10+ years of experience in an engineering role related to manufacturing engineering, DFMA, product optimization, manufacturing process or equipment development
Expertise in manufacturing and industrial engineering principles (OEE, cycle time analysis, DVA, Cp/Cpk, GR&R, ergonomics, DOE, quality control, equipment selection, ROI, error proofing, supply chain & logistics)
Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems using first principles, challenge assumptions and biased towards action
Proven technical leader that can lead and influence cross-functional teams
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, ability to concisely summarize and escalate complex topics
Experienced working within 2D & 3D CAD environments, simulation tools and other digital tools in the field of engineering
