Responsibilities
Designing and testing mechanical prototypes for electro-mechanical devices including enclosures and flow bodies
Creating & updating models, assemblies and detailed drawings
Performing structural and fluid flow analysis using FEA/CFD tools
Evaluate designs to identify opportunities for simplifying components, substituting materials, and optimizing performance to reduce costs
Performing a variety of testing to qualify new mechanical designs
Managing Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
Inspecting new parts or designs for compliance with prints or standards
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering Field
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in mechanical design
3D design experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software
Experience designing for a variety of metal and plastic fabrication techniques
Hands-on experience performing stress and/or fluid flow analysis using FEA/CFD tools
Preferred
5+ years of relevant experience in mechanical design
Experience working in a manufacturing environment
Experience working with electromechanical devices
Experience with Product Data Management systems (SolidWorks PDM preferred)
Solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Experience working with a multidisciplinary team
Experience working in Agile development environments; Scrum Master certification (CSM or equivalent) is a plus
