*Staff Research Associate
The University of Oklahoma is home to the Stephenson Cancer Center, Oklahoma’s only National Cancer Institute-Designated Cancer Center. They are seeking a Staff Research Associate to conduct ongoing research projects, manage research staff, and contribute to various scientific studies in cancer biology and related fields.

Responsibilities
Plans, designs and conducts scientific research in one or more of the following areas:
Hematopoietic stem cell biology and transplantation
Radiation mitigation and countermeasures
Immunotherapy particularly CAR T cell therapy and bispecific antibody
Cancer biology particularly in multiple myeloma
Constructs tests or assists in the construction of tests. Responsible for the final design of research studies
Collects various forms of data pertaining to the research project or projects. Conducts and directs analyses of data. Interprets, draws conclusions, and documents. Prepares final versions of reports to be submitted for publication. Presents research material to fellow researchers, committees, faculty, and at conferences
Keeps record of information obtained during research. May include a database of information or hard files
Conducts research of the literature
Independently conducts technical research. Collaborates with other researchers
Supervises a staff of research assistants and technicians. Responsible for hiring and firing, training, conducting performance appraisals, disciplining, and delegating tasks, and overseeing work
Manages the research laboratory or section. Interacts with funding source to ensure status is maintained
Sets major goals for the laboratory, ensures goals are met, and makes necessary adjustments. Discusses with Principal Investigator
Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position
Qualification
Required
Master's Degree in a Biological Science, Physical Science, Chemistry, or related field
60 months research specialty experience
Experimental skills in in vivo animal models, flow cytometry, molecular signaling pathways, genetic modification, cancer cell biology etc
Working knowledge of how to safely handle and dispose of biohazardous materials or chemicals following Federal, State, and University regulations and guidelines
Detail oriented
Ability to analyze data and keep records
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
Preferred
Ph.D
Ability to function at the post-doctoral level
