Responsibilities
Contacting growers to negotiate contracts and to explain terms and conditions of contract and contractual responsibilities
Determining production possibilities of land by studying data such as history of crop rotation, type and fertility of soil, location, topography, and irrigation facilities
Supplying seed to growers, maintaining a seed inventory, and generating invoices
Arranges for transportation of crops to processing plant
Coordinating the relationship between contract growers and plant production department insure adequate smooth flow of product to plant
Inspecting growing crops for evidence of disease and insect damage and recommends corrective measures
Monitoring and ensuring compliance with all regulations relating to food safety and personnel safety such as FDA, USDA and OSHA
Conducting monthly food safety audits, mock traceability projects, and other key initiatives related to food safety programs
Qualification
Required
3-5 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree may be substituted for experience
Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
Familiarity and proficiency with computers including MS Office
Self-driven and able to work on your own
Preferred
Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are preferred but not required
