Head of People and Talent

AM Specialty Insurance Company is seeking a senior, experienced VP of Human Resources to lead and scale the firm’s U.S. people strategy and HR operations. Responsibilities

Lead and execute ASIC’s U.S. human resources strategy in alignment with business objectives and growth plans
Oversee end-to-end talent acquisition, including workforce planning, recruiting strategy, and senior-level hiring
Design and manage performance management, employee development, and succession planning frameworks
Provide senior-level guidance on employee relations, disciplinary matters, and workplace issues
Oversee compensation and benefits programs, ensuring market competitiveness and internal equity
Ensure compliance with all applicable U.S. federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
Partner with executive leadership on organizational design, culture initiatives, and change management
Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on HR risk, people strategy, and workforce trends
Manage HR policies, procedures, and governance documentation
Collaborate with Operations, Finance, and Legal to ensure HR processes are operationally sound and audit-ready
Promote a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement across the organization

Required

Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) preferred
Minimum of 5-10 years of progressive HR experience, including senior or standalone HR leadership roles
Demonstrated experience across talent management, performance frameworks, employee relations, and compliance
Strong understanding of U.S. employment law and HR best practices
Proven ability to operate independently in a senior leadership capacity within a growing organization
Excellent judgment, communication, and stakeholder-management skills
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (No visa sponsorship available)

Preferred

advanced degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR)
Experience in financial services, insurance, or similarly regulated industries
