Legal Assistant

LHH is working with a reputable law firm in seeking an experienced Floater Legal Assistant to support attorneys across their Business Litigation practice for their San Diego office. The ideal candidate will provide high-level administrative and litigation support to multiple attorneys, managing complex court e-filing and maintaining attorney calendars.

Responsibilities

Provide high-level administrative and litigation support to multiple attorneys across the Business Litigation practice
Manage complex state and federal court e‑filing, including formatting, preparing, and submitting filings with exceptional accuracy
Maintain and manage attorney calendars, including deadlines, hearings, depositions, and court schedules
Prepare, edit, proofread, format, and redline a wide range of litigation documents
Coordinate client communications and maintain professional, timely contact as needed
Handle document organization and case management tasks using iManage or similar DMS
Assist with litigation workflows including discovery support, trial preparation, and case lifecycle management
Schedule meetings, depositions, and other litigation events
Provide flexible support across multiple cases and practice groups, stepping in wherever coverage is needed
Collaborate effectively with attorneys, paralegals, and other staff to ensure smooth operations

Required

Minimum 5+ years of legal assistant experience in California civil litigation
Strong e‑filing experience in both state and federal courts
Strong calendaring skills with deep knowledge of court rules and deadlines
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and document management systems such as iManage
Exceptional attention to detail with strong organization and time‑management abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently while being highly flexible and responsive to shifting priorities
Professional, proactive, and collaborative working style

Preferred

Experience in Business Litigation or Complex Civil Litigation Defense strongly preferred
Familiarity with litigation tools such as CompuLaw, Adobe Pro, Best Authority, Comparite, or similar programs is a plus
