Responsibilities
Supporting model development to assist in evaluation of plant or battery storage assets performance for dispatch and market monitoring purposes
Studying all asset, making recommendations based on findings
Managing data integrity for Calpine’s Project Development Controls group
Exact summer projects will be determined at the time of the commencement of the internship
Qualification
Required
Minimum qualifications include completion of sophomore year and at least 30 credit hours towards bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or other STEM degree
In good standing with a GPA of 3.0 or above
Legally eligible to work in the United States now and in the future
Must have strong skills in Microsoft Office i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Strong Excel skills (Vlookup, Sumifs, Pivot Tables, Macros)
Demonstrated modeling aptitude creating complex Excel models
Ability to apply analytical tools such as Tableau
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Good problem solving and analytical ability
Good organization skills and attention to details are essential
Must be flexible and able to work harmoniously with others in a dynamic environment
Must be able to self-start and manage multiple simultaneous tasks and priorities
Must have reliable transportation to and from work
Preferred
Programing skills i.e. Visual Basic or Python, is preferred
Knowledge of the energy industry, specifically the power or utility sector, is a plus
