They are seeking adjunct instructors to teach various courses in Engineering and Industrial Technology, responsible for effectively planning and teaching in both classroom and online environments.

Responsibilities

Effectively planning and teaching courses in a classroom or online environment to students with a variety of academic backgrounds and experiences

May be required to perform other duties as assigned

May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor

Required

Teaching Effectiveness, Academic Preparation, and/or Related Occupational Experience requirements based upon criteria in the VCCS-29: Normal Minimum Criteria for Each Faculty Rank

Must demonstrate ability to deliver coursework electronically in online environment and utilizing multiple teaching strategies as well as in-person instruction

Has a thorough understanding of the varied backgrounds and experiences of student populations and the ability to create a sense of belonging, support, and engagement that considers and values all students in curriculum development and teaching

Proficiency in using computers, relevant software applications, and the institution's learning management system (LMS) is required

Preferred

Wide range of coursework in the area of instruction

Strong written and oral communication skills

Demonstrated ability to incorporate technology into instruction
