Senior, Accounting Operations

They are seeking a Senior Accounting Operations Specialist to support the Global Operations team, focusing on process oversight, controls, and financial reporting integrity, while collaborating closely with various internal teams.

Responsibilities
Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure accuracy of transactions and financial reporting
Prepare and review detailed analyses and monthly/quarterly reconciliations, including reconciliations between reinsurance accounting and underwriting systems
Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external auditors
Ensure timely and accurate execution of SOX 404 compliance activities
Support technical analysis of reinsurance contracts and ensure accurate system representation
Contribute to ongoing enhancements of operational and financial accounting processes, including management reporting improvements
Assist with monthly close activities for reinsurance and corporate systems
Provide oversight of quota share bordereaux reporting, including actual vs. expected analysis and EPI review
Liaise with Operations, Underwriting, Reserving, Claims, and Finance teams as needed
Support IT initiatives, including system enhancements and user acceptance testing
Manage bound deal workflows in underwriting systems to ensure complete and accurate data transfer to reinsurance accounting platforms
Oversee reconciliations between underwriting and accounting systems to ensure data completeness and accuracy
Support the booking of complex reinsurance transactions (e.g., premiums, commissions, portfolio transfers, swing rates, funds held, accounts payable, NCBs, etc.)
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree required
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; Big Four audit experience within insurance or reinsurance strongly preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated operational excellence mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
Strong technology aptitude with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Excellent analytical skills and the ability to establish credibility across multiple stakeholder groups
Preferred
Professional accounting designation preferred (e.g., CPA, CA, ACA)
Experience working in a public company and SOX 404 environment preferred
