MCFR Senior Pipe Stress Engineer

Responsibilities

Perform ASME B31.3 piping analysis using AutoPIPE, including documentation compliant with TerraPower’s NQA-1 program
Work closely with plant designers and structural engineers to define piping layout and pipe supports and to integrate piping designs into the overall project
Engage with vendors to select pipe supports
Check analysis packages completed by others
Support procurement activities including reviews of supplier designs and deliverables
Perform and support analyses of other mechanical components and structures as needed

Required

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant program from an accredited university and 6 years of relevant experience for level 10, or 10 years of relevant experience for level 11. Experience level may be partially substituted for advanced degree depending on position relevance
Knowledgeable of ASME B31.3 and/or B31.1 other relevant industry piping codes and standards
Recent experience using a computer pipe stress analysis program (AutoPipe preferred)
Proficiency in CAD software (Solidworks and AutoCAD Plant3D/Navisworks preferred)
The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly and display respect, and a desire to foster teamwork

Preferred

PE License in Washington PE license or ability to obtain one promptly is preferred
Experience in high temperature and multi-discipline integration (highly desired)
Previous experience with nuclear reactors, nuclear handling process systems, or similar high-performance system or equipment design (highly desired)
Experience working to quality standards on design activities, such as ASME NQA-1 or ISO 9001 (highly desired)
