Responsibilities
Translate requirements into a system architecture and detailed design
Design and develop complex mechanical systems, equipment, and products for industrial machinery
Determine feasibility of modifying existing or designing new equipment considering costs, time limitations, and other technical and economic factors
Validate designs through analysis and testing
Coordinate own design efforts to meet production schedules and provide project task estimates and updates to project team
Qualification
Required
BS in Mechanical Engineering
0+ years of experience developing and maintaining mechanical system designs
Obtain and maintain railroad safety training and credentials
Working knowledge of business software including MS Office suite
Collaborate with others to clarify requirements and develop solutions
Lead design reviews consisting of multi-disciplined and cross functional team member
Preferred
0+ years' experience in Railroads, transportation, agricultural, or heavy construction equipment design
0+ years' experience in Power systems, engineer integration into power units and generator sets (up to 2000 Hp/1.3MW)
0+ years' experience in Complex/large scale machine layout and kinematic design
0+ years' experience in Large scale structural design and analysis
EIT
Knowledge in Autodesk and ERP software
