Responsibilities
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems
Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal
Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
Participate in the development and integration of advanced systems related to maritime applications including submarine systems and sub-sea warfare systems
Develop experience with the construction and modernization of SSNs including familiarity with submarine specific requirements and with the processes for submarine modernization
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of relevant exempt experience
Master's Degree and 0 year of relevant professional experience
Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program
Preferred
Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) / Digital Engineering (DE) experience
SysML modeling, CAMEO applications, or other MBSE modeling software
Functional and Logical architectures
Experience working with a team
