Implementation Specialist, Preparing & Retaining Educators through Partnership Program (Education Specialist V)

The Texas Education Agency (TEA) is committed to improving outcomes for public-school students in Texas. The Implementation Specialist will be responsible for launching and implementing the statewide Preparing and Retaining Educators through Partnership (PREP) Program, developing communication strategies, and providing technical assistance to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Develop PREP Communication Plan: Develop a PREP communication plan to ensure alignment in key messaging across five PREP Programs and aligned technical assistance providers. Support connected communications across several work streams and facilitate communication across a broad range of internal stakeholders including program owners, agency communications and stakeholder engagement staff, and government relations. Set and monitor goals related to communications plans and engage in performance management focused on the communications strategy
Develop and Manage PREP Communications Collateral and Processes: Oversee PREP Program Allotment communications to ensure accuracy, consistency, quality, and brand standards across the program team and external vendors. Develop communications deliverables to clearly and accurately describe the evolution of PREP Program Allotment and guides for stakeholders to use in applying for funds and implementing the program. Translate complex ideas, policies, and funding formulas into clear, accessible, practical language and visuals. Example communications deliverables: grant guidelines, newsletters, PowerPoint presentations and PDFs, data visualizations, webinars, To the Administrator Addressed correspondence, website maintenance, email campaigns, frequently asked question publications, etc. Prepare and facilitate external stakeholder engagement meetings, which may include but is not limited to preparation for State Board of Educator Certification meetings and Educator Preparation, Certification, and Enforcement Stakeholder Group meetings
Provide Technical Assistance to ESCs, Districts, and Educator Preparation Programs: Develop and provide technical assistance for the PREP Program Allotment to Education Service Centers, educator preparation programs, and district leaders. Support coordination of regional convenings logistics and communications related to pre- and post-work for meetings. Represent TEA at ESC and district convenings and serve as a resource for stakeholders via email, office hours, webinars, and other communications structures identified in the communications plan

Required

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university
At least five (5) years of experience in the education field
Share the belief that all Texas students can achieve at high levels and are able to succeed in college, career, or the military
Communicates complex ideas clearly, using practical and accessible language; excellent written and oral communication skills
Knowledge of the school system and ESC landscape
Exceptional written communications skills
Ability to create compelling PowerPoint presentation with effective visualizations to distill complex information
Meticulous attention to detail with an ability to copyedit work products and produce high quality work in a dynamic environment
Diligent in setting measurable goals, long-term project planning, tracking progress, and prioritizing work
Highly organized; ability to balance the demands of multiple projects at different stages of development while maintaining quality and consistency across all work
Strong virtual and hybrid meeting planning and facilitation skills
Ability to take in and break down new, complex information into component parts, ask questions, synthesize, and analyze. Ability to effectively translate learning into concrete plans and/or deliverables
Ability to build relationships quickly with a broad range of stakeholder groups

Preferred

Knowledge of teacher preparation landscape and policies in Texas preferred
