Specialist, Software Engineer (SAP ABAP)

Responsibilities
Analyzes, solutions, develops, tests, debugs, documents and deploys software according to standards in an agile environment
Applies secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure our data and technology solutions are protected from threats and vulnerabilities
Uses DevSecOps practices, tooling and techniques
Drives continuous improvement and learning through ongoing training, practice and innovation
Manages medium to large project priorities, deadlines and deliverables proactively
Qualification
Required
Experienced coding using the SAP ABAP language
Object oriented design principles
Experience with SQL development
Knowledge of API development
Able to Document processes and maintain system configurations
Enjoys learning and growing
Possess a growth mindset
CI/CD automation skills and mindset
Familiarity with monitoring tools such as New Relic or Splunk
Familiarity with code migration and GitHub
Passion to drive continuous improvement and capability uplift across the team/organization
Strong trouble shooting skills, ability to research, analyze and solve complex technical problems
Excellent communication skills, ability to effectively multi-task, and be a strong team player
Completion of undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or other related degree
Four or more years of analysis and technology experience
Proficiency in one or more programming language such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript
Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle
Proven ability to tackle complex business and development problems
Ability to thrive in a team environment
Preferred
Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus
