Responsible for the decontamination, prepping, packaging and sterilization of all instrumentation processed through the department following established department procedures
Acts as preceptor, mentor and resource in support of department team members
Qualification
Required
High School or Equivalent
HSPA (Health System Performance Assessment)
CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician)
CBSPDT (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution Technicians)
Knowledge of decontamination processes, preparation, and packaging
Sterilization techniques based on manufacturer recommendations
Storage of sterilized items
Knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation, equipment, and sterile field set-up
Interpreting policies, procedures, and protocols
Reviewing performance in compliance with recognized standards
