Product Line Manager - Industrial Wastewater Treatment (Travel-Based)
Pave Talent is hiring on behalf of their client, a global specialty chemicals company known for its commitment to sustainability and innovation in industrial metal finishing solutions. The Product Line Manager will lead the development and commercial lifecycle of a new product line focused on environmental compliance in wastewater treatment, driving strategic planning and managing technical service teams across North America.
Responsibilities
Drive strategic planning for the WaterCARE product line in coordination with global product managers, regional marketing teams, and R&D to capture new business opportunities across the Americas
Conduct comprehensive customer site surveys over 6-12 month cycles, documenting entire finishing processes and wastewater treatment systems
Lead treatability testing at customer facilities to determine optimal chemical solutions and coordinate technical service teams for implementation
Serve as the first responder for major technical issues, providing expert troubleshooting and solutions to maintain customer operations
Manage laboratory activities and develop testing capabilities at the Michigan-based facility to effectively serve diverse customer needs
Build and maintain strategic relationships with external suppliers and internal manufacturing facilities to optimize product pricing, availability, and quality
Provide high-level R&D support ensuring formulation activities align with commercial needs and market demands
Author technical papers, deliver presentations at industry conferences, and actively engage with trade associations to position the company as thought leaders
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related technical field
5+ years of hands-on experience in industrial wastewater treatment, chemical metal finishing, or both (dual experience strongly preferred)
Proven ability to travel extensively (75-85% including occasional weekends) across the US, Canada, and Mexico
Valid passport for international travel
Strong analytical skills to interpret technical data, governmental regulations, and complex process diagrams
Demonstrated experience presenting to customer groups and internal stakeholders
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite for technical documentation and reporting
Preferred
Laboratory experience with analytical testing methods and equipment
People management or team leadership experience
Track record of authoring technical papers or delivering conference presentations
Familiarity with supplier relationship management and product pricing strategies
