Start in 2026 WinterThe Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) is the regional planning and intergovernmental coordination agency focusing on critical regional issues. They are seeking a part-time, temporary intern to assist with spatial data collection and processing for active transportation planning.

Responsibilities
Collects and process various spatial data, including facility attribute data, census data, parcel data, zoning data, land use data, and regional growth data
Supports active transportation planning research
Perform other duties as assigned to support agency goals and objectives
Qualification
Required
High School diploma and currently enrolled in college or university, majoring in city or regional planning, urban studies, public policy technology, engineering, GIS, geography, statistics, or related field
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation
Proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS Desktop (ArcMap or Pro)
Possess strong analytical and technical skills
Ability to establish priorities and organize work
Ability to multi-task with attention to detail
Ability to work independently with general instructions
Ability to work well in a team environment
Preferred
Master's degree candidate in city and regional planning, urban studies, public policy, GIS or statistics or related field
Working experience and knowledge in spatial economics, city and regional planning, urban studies, land use modeling, transportation modeling, statistical analysis, and database management
Experience using census data and various local government data
