Electrical Engineer - Interconnection

Greenflash is a fast-growing independent power producer focused on large-scale energy storage and data center projects across the U.S. The Electrical Engineer will support technical execution, ensuring power system reliability and grid integration for energy infrastructure projects.

Renewables & Environment

Responsibilities

Perform power system modeling and studies (load flow, dynamic, and transient stability analyses) for large-scale electrical interconnections, including data centers and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
Support interconnection studies and regulatory filings, including RIOO-IS submissions, QSA deliverables, and LSIPA attestations (e.g., ERCOT, SPP, CAISO)
Evaluate and model large electronic loads, UPS systems, and ride-through behavior under voltage and frequency disturbances
Conduct technical reviews of HV (e.g., 345kV,138kV) substation and interconnection facility designs, ensuring compliance with ERCOT, NERC, and IEEE standards
Support procurement evaluations for major electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgear, UPS, and circuit breakers
Assist in the design and validation of islanding and microgrid configurations to enhance project resilience and operational reliability
Collaborate with utilities, EPCs, EMS, OEMs, consultants, developers, and data center operators to resolve design and interconnection challenges
Interpret and apply grid codes, ride-through standards, and interconnection requirements (IEEE 2800, NERC PRC, ERCOT)
Ensure project designs and interconnection studies align with ERCOT SB-6 reliability and dispatchability requirements, including verification of backup generation, system stability, and firm capacity performance
Review and validate engineering documentation, protection schemes, and power quality analyses to ensure robust, high-availability operation
Document lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement of internal engineering and interconnection processes
