Assistant Professor of Strength and Conditioning
California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) is a minority-serving institution dedicated to student success. They are seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Kinesiology to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, conduct research, and contribute to the department's development and student mentoring.

Responsibilities
Teaching courses in their general area of expertise at the undergraduate and graduate level, including strength and conditioning courses that focus on principles, measurement and testing, exercise techniques, and program design, as well as personal training courses
Producing scholarship commensurate with the requirements for tenure and promotion
Contributing to, and participating in, the life and development of the department
Supervising undergraduate and graduate students' culminating experiences (e.g., thesis, project)
Serving on committees and participating in the broader university and disciplinary communities
Qualification
Required
Earned doctorate with an emphasis in strength and conditioning by the time of appointment. ABDs are welcome to apply, but must show evidence that the degree will be completed by the time of appointment
Demonstrated ability or potential to provide high-quality undergraduate and graduate education to a diverse student population, including first‐generation college students
Developed record of high-quality scholarship appropriate to the level of appointment
Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion in teaching, scholarship, and/or service
Demonstrated ability/potential to work collaboratively with colleagues and/or community partners
Preferred
A research focus in any of the following areas as they relate to strength and conditioning: 1) sport and athletic performance; 2) healthy aging; 3) special populations such as youth or people with disabilities; 4) sport science
Hold a current Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) or similar internationally recognized organization
Potential for developing/obtaining grants and external funding commensurate with stage in career
Record of professional involvement, leadership, or service in the university, state, national, or international professional organizations, commensurate with stage in career
