Indiana University is seeking a Director of Undergraduate Research and Mentor Development to provide strategic leadership for the IU Undergraduate Research office. Responsibilities

Provide leadership and vision for the IU Undergraduate Research office and VIP Program
Supervise the IUUR Student Programming Manager, providing guidance and support for effective program delivery that ensures that the needs of both mentors and students are effectively met
Serve as a central resource for defining and tracking undergraduate research and creative activities at IUB through developing and implementing departmental outreach, workshops, and one-on-one consultations
Provide continuous support to faculty mentors throughout all stages of program development, ensuring the delivery of high-quality programming that aligns with IUB’s standards for experiential learning
Analyze data to identify participation gaps and develop strategies to promote access to undergraduate research and creative activities across student populations and disciplines
Facilitate collaborations with campus partners to create centralized resources that help students locate opportunities and secure funding to support their research and creative projects
Lead or contribute to campus-wide committees and initiatives focused on undergraduate research and creative activities
In partnership with the Director of Student Engagement and Strategic Initiatives, manage new and ongoing grants that support IUUR programming
Collaborate with the Office for Research Development in creating best practices for faculty development of research proposals that include undergraduate students

Required

Completed Ph.D. from an accredited four-year institution of higher education with demonstrated expertise in university research and teaching and learning processes
Five years of progressive administrative responsibility in supervising, managing, and evaluating the work with college students, faculty, and staff in higher education
Experience working with diverse populations and commitment to fostering an inclusive, welcoming environment for faculty, students, and staff
Presentation and/or teaching experience at the college level
Demonstrated success with program development, implementation, and on-going program assessment
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
Experience with software commonly utilized in higher education (student information systems, database systems, MS Office, degree audit software, early alert systems, etc.)
Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to new IT platforms
Engagement within professional higher education organizations such as the National Council on Undergraduate Research
