Stanton Design is a leading designer and supplier of decorative high-quality carpets and rugs. They are currently seeking a Senior Accountant to prepare financial reports, perform account reconciliations, and assist with audit preparations among other accounting duties.

Responsibilities

Prepare journal entries and assist with the month-end and year-end closings

Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports for management

Review and audit expense reports

Review commission calculations

Prepare and distribute daily bank balances

Prepare bank and other account reconciliations

Review daily bank activity for accuracy

Prepare and file multi-state sales and use tax returns

Assist with year-end audit requirements

Assist with analyzing sales, inventory and gross profit variances and trends

Assist with the preparation of budgets and budget versus actual variance analysis

Periodically select cycle count audits

Assist with additional analysis, tasks and special projects as needed

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting along with 5+ years of relevant experience

Working knowledge of tax laws and GAAP

Strong financial analysis skills

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

High level of organizational and follow up skills

Ability to manage multiple projects and assignments

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain relationships across the organization

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook

Preferred

Experience in wholesale, distribution, or manufacturing

AS400 experience a plus
