Responsibilities
Processing all amendments to legislation
Maintaining bill files and other committee records
Proofreading and distributing committee analyses and other hearing materials
Responding to inquiries from legislators, staff, and the public
Attending, organizing, and preparing committee hearings
Calling the roll during hearings and reporting committee actions to the Senate Desk
Tracking legislation
Accepting, collating, and ensuring accuracy of support and opposition of legislation
Managing and posting materials to the committee website
Executing key tasks using legislative software programs
Coordinating with all committee staff to ensure timely, accurate, and quality work products
Qualification
Required
Knowledge of (or familiarity with) the legislative process required
Attention to detail
Strong work ethic
Ability to complete assigned tasks on deadline
Effective communication skills
Capacity to manage responsibilities effectively in the legislative environment
Ability to balance multiple high-priority tasks
Exhibit maturity, good judgment, honesty, and professionalism
