Deputy Chief Toxicologist
Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences is seeking a Deputy Chief Toxicologist to assist the Chief Toxicologist in managing the technical operations within the Toxicology section. The role involves providing expert witness testimony, consultation to customers, and managing QA/QC programs, among other responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Manage technical operations within Toxicology
Manage the QA/QC program within Toxicology
Provide expert witness testimony
Provide consultation to ADFS customers (e.g., medical examiners, law enforcement, coroners, attorneys)
Develop and maintain procedures
Manage method development & validation, and research
Implement corrective action plans
Assist with Training
Qualification
Required
Doctorate degree in Toxicology, Pharmacology, Chemistry, or related field
Preferred
F-ABFT-certified
Three years of full-time laboratory experience in forensic toxicology lab
Documented completion of a Forensic Toxicology training program
Analytically-sound, proven leadership skills, problem solving capabilities, experience with method development and validation, proficient with QQQ and QTOF technologies
