Responsibilities
Analyze specifications: Review job orders, blueprints, and technical drawings to calculate dimensions, select tools, and determine machine speeds
Program CNC machines: Create and optimize CNC programs using CAM software to ensure precision and efficiency
CNC setup & calibration: Set up CNC equipment, calibrate tools, and ensure proper machine function before production
Trial runs & adjustments: Perform trial simulations, adjusting programs as needed to ensure accuracy and minimize errors
Safety & cleanliness: Follow all safety standards, wear PPE for the duration of the shift while on the manufacturing floor, and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Cross-departmental support: Assist with other areas of production as needed to ensure smooth operations
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED
At least 2 years of experience programming and setting up 3-axis CNC mills
Strong understanding of basic machining practices and mechanical processes
Solid math skills and the ability to effectively communicate technical details
Strong problem-solving abilities and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment
Dependable with a commitment to high-quality, precise work standards
Preferred
Experience with CAM software preferred
