They are seeking a highly motivated FEA Engineer Intern to support the design, modeling, and reliability evaluation of next-generation MR optical modules, focusing on developing finite element models and conducting fracture mechanics analysis.

Responsibilities
Develop opto-mechanical finite element models/analytical models of MR optical modules for design guidance, process optimization and reliability evaluation
Conduct fracture mechanics analysis on brittle/ductile fracture evaluation
Drive material characterization and testing to support modeling efforts
Communicate and report analysis results to team as well as cross-functional teams
Coordinate and work with other teams to integrate module models into larger assembly models
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Solid Mechanics, or a related field
Experience in implicit and explicit finite element analysis (FEA)
Experience with the mechanical behavior of materials and constitutive modeling
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred
Experience with calibration, verification, and validation of models through physical testing
Strong background in fracture mechanics, adhesion, soft materials, and large deformation of thin films
Expertise in running non-linear static and dynamic Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using ABAQUS
Knowledge of optics is a plus
Knowledge of liquid lens is a plus
