Responsibilities
Designing, developing, and operationalizing state-of-the-art AI solutions, including large language models (LLMs), to address complex challenges in clinical, operational, and business contexts
Building and integrating scalable AI/ML systems
Collaborating on software development efforts
Driving innovation to advance Mercy’s vision of personalized, predictive, and proactive care
Qualification
Required
2 years of experience in AI/ML development and software engineering
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field
Strong experience in designing, fine-tuning, and deploying LLMs, ML models, and agentic AI workflows
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++
Experience with AI/ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn)
Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
Solid SQL skills and experience working with structured/unstructured data, including EMR and financial datasets
Expertise in prompt engineering and generative AI applications
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills
Preferred
Graduate degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field
Experience with MLOps frameworks for deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management
Hands-on experience with distributed computing (e.g., Apache Spark, Databricks)
Proficiency in designing APIs and microservices
Familiarity with ethical AI and explainability techniques
Experience building AI-powered apps such as virtual assistants or analytics dashboards
Knowledge of testing frameworks for ML/AI solutions
Exposure to or experience developing agentic AI frameworks or orchestration tools (e.g., LangGraph, CrewAI)
