APEX Program Director
The University of Washington Autism Center is seeking an APEX Program Director to oversee the operational, educational, clinical, and research components of the APEX Program. This role involves supervising a summer camp, providing clinical services, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support children and families affected by autism spectrum disorders.

Responsibilities
Consult, collaborate and plan meetings with multidisciplinary practitioners through the UW Autism Center to aid in program development and meet the needs of campers
Lead and organize program development tasks
Maintain the clinical foundation and structures related to serving autistic children; ensure current evidence-based intervention content is implemented in the summer program
Manage the logistics of camp set up. For example, ensure an adequate site, contact vendors, develop marketing and recruitment materials in collaboration with UWAC staff
Lead and collaborate with UWAC team to implement the program
Optional: conduct research on program effectiveness and other topics of interest
Lead staff hiring for APEX Summer Camp. Recruit doctoral and master's level clinicians, graduate, and undergraduate students from local, national, and international institutions of higher education
Directly train staff in evidence-based intervention techniques, including data tracking, social skills coaching/training, and de-escalation strategies
Provide camp staff with guidance and mentorship related to professional development, applying to graduate level or professional programs. Facilitate research opportunities and provide letters of recommendation for graduate and post-camp job applications
Recruit children and families to participate in the APEX Summer Camp; conduct screening calls and in-person family interviews to determine appropriate fit for camp
Provide clinical consultation to families regarding a range of clinical issues in the home and school settings; involve client's families in counseling and home program activities
Provide consultation to community providers who work with autistic children to ensure continuity of care for the child and family; provide consultation to other UW Autism Center clinicians
Provide education and training to parents and caregivers regarding evidence-based practices for promoting optimal development of social and behavioral skills
Keep appropriate records of services provided and coordinate with the billing office regarding services and meet billable expectations when applicable
Complete initial client evaluations, treatment plans, progress reports, referral letters, and other administrative responsibilities in a timely manner
Maintain appropriate service records and report service statistics for documentation and billing purposes
Monitor and manage budget for the APEX program in collaboration with UWAC Director of Operations and Director
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in psychology, education or related health care field and 3-4 years of relevant work experience in working with school-age autism children and/or experience leading programs
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration
Preferred
Graduate-level degree in psychology, education, (Ph.D., MA, MS, PsyD, MSW, SLP) or related health care field (e.g., ABA, OT, PT)
Experience leading summer camp programs
Candidates must have a WA state professional license in their field of practice
