Technical Support Specialist III - UEM

The State of Utah's Division of Technology Services (DTS) is seeking an experienced Technical Support Specialist III to support enterprise endpoint management solutions. This role involves designing, implementing, securing, and maintaining Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) solutions while collaborating with IT teams and state agencies.

Responsibilities

Design, deploy, configure, and support UEM solutions for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and servers
Implement device provisioning, enrollment, configuration, and compliance policies
Develop and maintain security and configuration profiles aligned with industry best practices
Automate endpoint management tasks including software deployment, patching, and configuration updates
Monitor and troubleshoot endpoint management systems to ensure performance and availability
Support endpoint security initiatives and participate in incident response activities
Collaborate with IT teams to integrate UEM solutions with identity, security, and helpdesk systems
Create and maintain technical documentation and follow established change management processes
Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and IT support teams on UEM-related issues and procedures
Participate in an on-call escalation rotation as required

Required

Proven experience managing enterprise endpoint management solutions
Proficiency with UEM platforms such as Microsoft Intune, VMware Workspace ONE, or Jamf Pro
Strong understanding of endpoint security, including encryption, authentication, and access controls
Experience with scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python, Bash, AppleScript, etc.)
Knowledge of Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android device management
Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Preferred

3+ years of endpoint management or related experience
Experience supporting secure or regulated environments
Familiarity with project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, SAFe, etc.)
Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Modern Desktop Administrator, VMware Digital Workspace, CompTIA Mobility+)
Understanding of Zero Trust security principles and state or federal compliance standards
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to solve complex problems, communicate clearly, and manage work independently
Experience with ServiceNow IT Service Management (ITSM) modules, including creating, managing, and resolving incidents, problems, and change requests

Utah Retirement Systems (URS)
Employees hired on or after than 7/1/2011 and have never been in the URS retirement system have two options for retirement in the Tier II System. Employer contributions to your 401(k) are vested after four years.

Tier 2 Hybrid Retirement System. Employer contributes an amount equal to 10% of your salary between both plans (pension and 401(k))

Paid Time Off
Annual leave and sick leave are accrued at 4 hours per pay period each (4 hours annual, 4 hours sick).
Annual leave increases with years of service.
