Computer Scientist
Air Force Civilian Service is seeking a Computer Scientist to provide professional and scientific expertise in engineering, mathematics, statistical analysis, and modeling/simulation. The role involves planning, research, design, development, and integration of complex electronic systems to support the organization's mission objectives.
Responsibilities
Provide professional and scientific expertise in performance of work requiring knowledge and application of engineering, mathematics, statistical analysis, modeling/simulation, and/or other scientific principles, methods, and techniques
Apply cross-discipline knowledge in the planning, research, design, development, test, evaluation, integration, acquisition, dissemination, sustainment, modification, and/or exploitation of complex electronic systems to support the organization's mission objectives

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Security Clearance
Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing
This is a Mission Essential (ME) position performing a Mission Critical Function (MCF) which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency
This is a Emergency Essential (EE) position. This position cannot be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the organization to function effectively
Degree requirement: Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions
The work will require the employee to drive a motor vehicle. A valid driver's license is required for the position
Professional knowledge of engineering, mathematics, statistical analysis, modeling/simulation, and/or other scientific concepts, principles, standards, methods, techniques, practices, and procedures
Knowledge and understanding of agency, AF, Department of Defense (DoD) and national-level doctrine, regulations, policies, guidelines, requirements, and initiatives related to assigned program(s) and/or project(s)
Knowledge of security procedures to maintain control of classified material
Skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to identify, investigate, resolve complex issues or problems, and modify standard practices and techniques to solve complex interrelated problems
Skill, judgment, resourcefulness, originality, and ability to foresee the impact of changing technology
Preferred
A master's degree in a technical related field is highly desired
