People Solutions Center is representing APEX Wood Floors, a company dedicated to providing top-of-the-line hardwood flooring solutions. They are seeking an Estimator/Project Manager who is detail-oriented and collaborative, responsible for supporting the sales team, managing project files, and participating in proposal preparation.

Responsibilities

Supporting the sales team with administrative and sales tasks. Collaborating with Apex Sales and Operations teams to improve processes and protocols firmwide

Working on multiple opportunities and tasks simultaneously; able to ‘course correct’ promptly when workload and project direction require it

Learning, understanding and executing the Apex quote/contract process, including reading a Blueprint Bid Set and receiving pricing and lead times from vendors

Participating in proposal meetings and occasional site visits to assist in the preparation of proposals

Managing individual design and project-specific digital files and hard copies

Other duties as assigned

Required

Computer savvy with proficiency is required. Must have experience with a blueprint take-off software. Bluebeam and CAD experience is a plus

1+ years of experience in a related position such as project management, estimation or administration

Excellent time management and organizational skills

Strong critical thinking, written and verbal communication skills

Experience working and engaging with a diverse range of professional contacts (ex., design industry professionals, tradespersons and vendors, current and potential clients)

Demonstrating a strong grasp of the confidential nature of the work performed for project stakeholders that include architects, builders, design vendors and luxury clients. Promptly and succinctly communicate ‘incomings' and status updates to project stakeholders

Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle enabling work at two office locations (Lombard and downtown Chicago / River North)
