Responsibilities
This is a small team. We expect the manager to be a player-coach, capable and willing to dive in and lead by example. Writing code and reviewing PRs will be a significant part of your job. The ideal candidate will be capable of delivering at a Senior Engineer level
Empower the engineering team to achieve a high level of technical productivity, reliability, and simplicity—build and reinforce a shipping culture
Manage team career development by coaching and mentoring engineers though continuous feedback, goal setting and development plans
Collaborate closely with product team to set engineering priorities
Qualification
Required
1+ years of people management experience at a high-growth startup
Experience recruiting and building high-performing engineering teams
Experience managing geographically distributed teams
Experience managing and developing both junior engineers as well as senior individual contributors
Demonstrated interest and participation in the crypto/web3 ecosystem—full-time work experience in crypto is not required but is a plus
Significant experience as a hands-on software engineer. Full-stack experience is a plus
Experience in Typescript or Go
The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment in a rapidly evolving, cutting edge industry
Clear and persuasive writing and in-person communication
