Placement Director - Graduate Placement Program

Akadian Accounting Education is a leader in the accounting education industry, and they are seeking a Placement Director to build a new Career Placement Program. This role involves designing and leading the program, cultivating employer relationships, coaching graduates, and managing the entire placement lifecycle.

Responsibilities

Design, launch, and lead Akadian's new Career Placement Program from the ground up
Proactively identify, forge, and nurture relationships with a diverse network of employers—from fast-growing startups to established accounting firms and large corporations—to create a robust and exclusive pipeline of W-2 job opportunities for Akadian graduates
Serve as a dedicated career coach for our program graduates
Provide expert one-on-one and group coaching, including resume optimization, LinkedIn profile enhancement, advanced interview preparation, and salary negotiation strategies to ensure our talent is competitive and confident
Act as the primary matchmaker between Akadian's talent pool and the specific needs of our hiring partners
Manage the entire placement lifecycle, from sourcing and screening candidates to coordinating interviews and guiding offer negotiations
Develop and manage a system for tracking key placement metrics
Report these findings to leadership to measure the program's ROI and inform future strategy
Work closely with the Akadian curriculum and student success teams to create a continuous feedback loop, ensuring our training programs remain perfectly aligned with real-world employer demands

Required

3-5 years of proven success in full-cycle recruiting and placement, with a specific focus on accounting and finance professionals
Experience placing candidates in roles such as Bookkeeper, AP/AR Clerk, and Staff Accountant
Demonstrated ability to build programs, processes, or departments from the ground up
Comfortable with ambiguity, thrive on autonomy, and have a bias for action
Equally skilled at business development (cold outreach, building relationships with hiring managers) and career coaching (empathizing with and preparing job seekers)
Deep understanding of the accounting and finance talent market, including salary trends, in-demand skills, and the nuances of different accounting roles
Experience developing and using KPIs to measure success and drive strategy
Exceptional communication skills, including interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills
