They are seeking a Year Round - R&D Undergraduate Intern to support mechanical engineering design efforts and learn fundamental skills in engineering design and coding processes. The intern will be involved in daily engineering activities and will perform engineering tasks using various software tools.

Responsibilities

Support fundamental mechanical engineering design efforts by performing engineering tasks and duties that require basic knowledge of Microsoft Office tools like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
You will learn fundamental skills in CREO, Solidworks, Windchill, and LabView to perform basic development of engineering designs and codes for operations supporting Pulsed Power and High Energy Laser experimental operations
Be present in the daily engineering activities of the group and learn engineering analysis and coding processes

Required

Currently attending and enrolled full time in an accredited undergraduate program
Pursuing a science, engineering, or math major
Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
Ability to work up to 25 hours per week during the academic year, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer
Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship

Preferred

Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering
Currently enrolled and attending an accredited 4-year undergraduate Science-Technology-Engineering-Math (STEM) program with the completion of the first-year curriculum by June 2026
Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.7/4.0
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools
Highly motivated and team-oriented
Experience in Computer Aided Design tools (SolidWorks, CREO, AutoCAD, etc.)
