Responsibilities
Prepares daily shift assignment schedule. Maintains and verifies the appropriate shift assignment and attendance logs
Ensures adequate par levels of orthopedic/clinical equipment and maintains appropriate records
Ensures orthopedic/clinical equipment is maintained in clean and good operating condition. Makes minor repairs and adjustments to equipment or coordinates necessary repairs
Prepares purchase requisitions and monitors equipment usage from requests submitted by nursing units to ensure that clinical supplies are charged appropriately
Maintains complete records of departmental orthopedic equipment/clinical supplies purchased repaired or rented
Documents daily use of patient care supplies and equipment and provides monthly statistical reports of equipment/supply usage to management
Responds to inquiries from the Bill Auditing Department regarding specific equipment/supply charges
Verifies outstanding orders and takes appropriate corrective action
Performs the duties and responsibilities of the Equipment Orthopedic Technician as needed
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED required
May require up to 1 year of technical or other specialized training
1 to 3 years experience required
CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days required
Requires the ability to read and write; and knowledge of grammar and arithmetic including fractions and decimals
May require the use of standard office/medical equipment (i.e. typewriter personal computer data terminal on-line printer calculator telephone facsimile copier sterilizing equipment blood pressure cuff or tables); the preparation comparison or checking of reports records and related data; and basic use of formulas charts tables drawings and knowledge of their application
