Graduate Assistant for Student Group Development
Inside Higher Ed is seeking a Graduate Assistant for Student Group Development. This role involves providing guidance and support to student organizations, coordinating events, and assisting with training and skill development for student group leaders.

Responsibilities
Serve as a CAP event consultant to a select group of student organizations to provide direct guidance and support to student groups as they plan and implement campus programs
Responsible for providing support, training, and skill development for student group leaders through workshops as needed on issues related to student group development, university policies, and conflict management
Coordinate annual student organization registration process and provide support to the student group management database system (Spartan Connect) and review new student group applications
Assist in the planning and implementation of the annual Spartans of Excellence Banquet, a recognition banquet for student leaders and student groups at UNCG
Oversee the student group office and storage space application and assignment process and manage the needs of the Student Group Resource Room throughout the year
Designs, administers, and responds to research surveys and evaluations to analyze student group leaders’ needs and interests
Serve as a liaison between CAP and other campus entities, both on a one-to-one basis and through service on committees. Serve as a member of the Office of Campus Activities and Programs staff and participates in office programs such as Fall Kickoff and Admissions Open Houses; attends CAP and Student Affairs meetings; and other duties as assigned by the Associate Director and/or Director
Qualification
Required
Maintain academic good standing at all times (3.0)
Be enrolled full-time, which is generally a minimum of 9 credits
Make satisfactory progress toward your degree as defined by your academic program and the Graduate School
Meet the requirements to be eligible for employment in the U.S
Display maturity in work style and communication skills
Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, Google Suite, and basic technology
Display enthusiasm for working directly with students
Preferred
Have experience and knowledge of programming for college students
Have some event planning experience
Be prepared for flexibility in their work schedule for weekend programming and peak event weeks (Homecoming, Rawkin' Welcome Weeks, Winterfest, etc.)
