Responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end design and development of scalable, secure, and high-performance applications using Java, Spring Boot, and REST APIs
Define and enforce application architecture standards, coding best practices, and design patterns across teams
Review code and technical designs to ensure quality, performance, and maintainability
Design and implement cloud-native solutions on AWS, leveraging services such as Lambda, ECS, EC2, Step Functions, and IAM
Build and manage data persistence using Aurora and RDS databases
Support CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployment strategies to ensure reliable and repeatable releases
Act as a senior escalation point for production issues, especially in time-sensitive financial and audit systems
Analyze complex issues, debug existing applications, and drive root-cause analysis with minimal turnaround time
Ensure system stability, performance, and compliance with operational SLAs
Work closely with business stakeholders to understand financial reporting, accounting, and audit requirements
Translate business needs into clear technical designs and specifications
Provide technical guidance and recommendations aligned with business goals
Apply deep knowledge of Agile, change management, and release processes throughout the SDLC
Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives
Ensure adherence to governance, compliance, and audit standards
Provide accurate estimates for development tasks, timelines, dependencies, and resource needs
Contribute to project planning and delivery commitments
Mentor junior and mid-level developers, fostering technical growth and best practices
Build strong working relationships with IT teams and non-technical business users
Clearly explain technical concepts, risks, and solutions to diverse audiences
Support a collaborative, client-focused delivery environment
Qualification
Required
12+ years of overall IT experience, with 8–10+ years in hands-on Java development roles
Proven experience leading or owning complex enterprise applications in production environments
Strong background working with financial systems, financial reporting, and audit-related processes
Expert-level experience with Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful services
Hands-on expertise with AWS Cloud services including Lambda, ECS, EC2, Step Functions, and IAM Roles
Experience with Aurora and RDS (relational databases)
Strong understanding of enterprise application architecture, system integration, and scalability
Proficiency in troubleshooting, performance tuning, and debugging production issues
Experience with version control systems and modern development tools
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and business stakeholders
Proven leadership and mentoring capabilities in a collaborative Agile environment
Comfortable working in a client-focused, fast-paced delivery model
Preferred
AWS and/or Java certifications are strongly preferred
Certification in at least one formal development methodology (Scrum Master, Agile, or similar) is a plus
Experience with Web/UI technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like Angular.js
