Associate Director (Two Positions): Housing Operations OR Residence Life
Boise State University is seeking to fill two Associate Director roles in Housing Operations and Residence Life to enhance student support and operational effectiveness. These positions will provide strategic leadership and oversee various functions to ensure a holistic residential experience for students.

Responsibilities
Responsible for the overall development and collaborative implementation of an on-campus housing operation where student-centered learning, success, and service are paramount
Lead staff in developing and tracking progress towards annual Objectives and Key Results
Responds to the needs and problems of residents and parents/family members in a conscientious, appropriate, and timely manner. Meets with students, investigates issues, and provides written follow-up to student concerns/complaints
Serve on 24-hour Admin on Call (AOC) (day, evening, holiday, and weekend) 365 days a year in rotation with other senior-level Housing and Residence Life staff supporting RDs on call and responding to various emergencies
Maintain budget oversight for areas of responsibility, prepare and allocate spending within assigned areas, demonstrate sound fiscal management practices, and ensure spending complies with Housing and Residence Life, University, and State policies/guidelines
Designs and implements an intentional and comprehensive training program for professional and paraprofessional staff across Housing and Residence Life
Directly supervise Assistant Directors and indirectly supervise a team of other professional staff members
Other duties as assigned by the Director. This includes but is not limited to at least 40 hours per year for full-time employees dedicated to helping with broad divisional or institutional programs or initiatives that may be outside the department, such as Move-In Day, Welcome Week, Parent & Family Weekend, Bronco Day, Commencement, or other special projects. All other duties as assigned
Implements initiatives, programs, services, and expectations that are consistent with the values, missions, and visions of Housing and Residence Life, Student Affairs, and Boise State University
Oversees and audits all campus housing assignment and billing processes, including large, ongoing, and special assignments, as well as the housing database, including room changes, contract cancellations, and room accounts
Develops and implements improved housing operations and customer service processes based upon best practices and assessment
Oversee occupancy & Housing Database Management
Oversee departmental analytics efforts and data requests
Works with University General Counsel to update housing license agreements and other contracts knowledge
Designs and implements an intentional and comprehensive training program for professional and paraprofessional staff across Residence Life, connecting all staff and focusing on relationship building, concepts of learning, and academic excellence
Lead and coordinate assessment and evaluation functions across Housing and Residence Life, ensuring collected data informs future decision making, strategies for changes to a curricular model, processes, policies, etc., that result in higher student satisfaction and learning
Cultivate effective and mutually supportive working relationships with members of the division and campus that further the strategic Objectives and key results of Housing and Residence Life
Assist in the planning, development, and implementation of fall, winter, and spring training for Residence Life professional and student staff
Address behavioral problems and emergencies, as applicable. Confront situations in which University and/or Housing & Residence Life policies and community standards may be violated, and assist live-in professionals, paraprofessionals, and staff members with resolving difficult confrontations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or relevant experience plus 5 years experience including 1-year managerial experience
Experience supervising professional staff in addition to knowledge of effective recruitment
Administrative skills, including the ability to organize a variety of projects in all areas of the department
Experience working in a professional position in housing and residence life
Knowledge of student development theory to inform programs, services, policies and procedures
Experience with professional staff recruitment, training & development
Experience with housing database and occupancy management systems
