Simulation Software Engineer

The Simulation Software Engineer will maintain integrated lab environments, collaborate on simulation models, and assist in test plan execution.

Responsibilities

Maintain Archer’s integrated lab environments supporting validation and verification activities, handling quality evaluations, human factor evaluations and test pilot familiarization
Collaborate cross-functionally with internal groups and suppliers to integrate, instrument and maintain configuration of simulation models in a real-time integrated hardware-in-the-loop environment
Build simulation models of systems and integrate them into the overall framework
Design and build graphical user interfaces to control the real-time simulation environment
Assist in the execution of test plans and test automation

Required

3+ years of experience in a related field
Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
Experience building and developing for a COTS HIL platform (NI, dSPACE, etc)
Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink and Python
Experience developing models of physical systems based on requirements
Solid understanding of communication standards and protocols (RS-422/485, CAN/CAN-FD, ARINC-429, Ethernet, TCP/IP, USB etc…)
Experience prototyping Graphical User Interfaces based on user feedback
Solid understanding of standard software development tools: Continuous integration - TeamCity / Jenkins / Artifactory, Version control - SVN / Git / Bitbucket, Issue tracking - Jira / Zendesk / MantisBT
Excellent organizational and communication skills

Preferred

Experience developing real-time software for a Hardware-in-the-Loop aircraft simulator
Proficiency in the NI software suite (LabVIEW, VeriStand)
Experience automating and executing test plans
Familiarity with fault injection methodologies
Proficiency in C\C++ or other low-level languages
Experience with model based development using Matlab/Simulink
Familiarity with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and protocol analyzers
Experience with Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR) or multi-projector technologies
Experience with Agile/SCRUM methodologies and tools
Experience supporting FHA evaluations
Familiarity with or a passion for aviation
