Junior Designer & Design Assistant

House of Elliott is a small design firm located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, focusing on residential projects in New York City and the tri-state area. They are seeking a Junior Designer & Design Assistant to manage various aspects of the design process, from client consultations to project installations.

Responsibilities

Primary tasks to include all aspects of the design process, from initial client consultation, to product sourcing and ultimate installation
Daily tasks to include calendar management, proposal and invoice preparation, gathering estimates from vendors and trades, coordinating and scheduling deliveries, maintaining client folders and bags, maintaining office library and sample files
Preparing COI's and Handling Building Alteration/Decorating Agreements
Must have at least 1.5 - 3 years experience with another interior design firm
Highly organized individual with experience and exposure to both design and construction processes/ work-streams
Ability to manage multiple projects at once and execute on tasks with limited guidance
Experience working with design accounting software such as Studio Webware
Must be organized, punctual, highly motivated, flexible and have excellent verbal and written communication skills, all while in a fast paced environment
Must be a problem solver
Must have skills in Auto-CAD or Sketch Up
Must have the skill set and motivation to take ownership of projects and see them from start through installation
Must be able to create custom work orders for furniture and window treatment vendors
