This is a Mission-Essential position performing a Mission-Critical-Function which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions
The duty of this position meets all requirements as a category 4 designation and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the parent Federal Agency or office to function effectively
This position must be removed from the Ready Reserve and CAN NOT become a member of the Ready Reserve. (IAW: DoDD 1200.7, "Screening the Ready Reserve,")
This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing
Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety
Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-2600 Electronic Equipment Installation and Maintenance Family
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying
The screen out element for this position is the ability to do the work of an ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT MAKER, INSTALLER, & REPAIRER SUPERVISOR without more than normal supervision
Knowledge of a wide range of principles, processes, and techniques of trade(s) and/or craft(s) supervised and personnel management policies, practices, and procedures, including sexual harassment and Equal Employment Opportunity/ Equal Employment Treatment
Expert knowledge of safety regulations, practices, and procedures
Expert in technologies including high frequency radio communications systems, ultrahigh frequency and line-of site satellite communications systems, antenna systems including transmission theory, telephone systems, radio frequency propagation, and cryptographies systems
Expert in lightning protection, grounding, bonding shielding of electronic systems and networks
Knowledge of the use and maintenance of hand and power tools, equipment, and precision measuring and/or test equipment common to trades supervised
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, sketches, and technical specifications
Knowledge of MIL STD 124B, Grounding, Bonding. And Shielding for Common Long Haul/Tactical Communication Systems including Ground Based Communications-Electronics Facilities and Equipment and MIL HDBK 419A, Grounding, Bonding, and Shielding for Electronic Equipment and Facilities
Ability to plan and organize work assignments to include determining resources required to accomplish mission
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

Preferred

A bachelor's degree in an electronics technical field with five years specialized experience or 10 years equivalent experience is desirable
