This role is responsible for maintaining data center infrastructure, performing server and GPU installations, troubleshooting hardware issues, and ensuring continuous network service availability.

Responsibilities
Perform Level 1 and Level 2 tasks as needed, including:
Relocating and inspecting servers and switches
Installing and cabling hardware per wire maps and standards
Assisting with unboxing, prepping, and auditing servers
Installing components (NICs, drives, memory)
Updating firmware and configuring IPs and credentials
Supporting network admins with cabling, optics, and hardware replacements
Rack and stack servers/switches for remote configuration
Deploy and configure GPUs in servers
Troubleshoot and perform break-fix tasks for servers and GPUs
Provide advanced ticket resolution and technical support
Act as liaison between team members and management
Manage team workload and prioritize tasks
Review and validate build documentation
Direct build activities and ensure alignment with data center standards
Lead multiple projects under high-pressure conditions
Monitor deadlines and report status to project managers
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and operational standards
Contribute thought leadership to support program growth
Qualification
Required
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
4+ years of experience in a hyperscale data center environment
Basic knowledge of computer hardware and server components
Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, climb ladders, and wear PPE as needed
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Preferred
CompTIA A+, Server+, CCENT (or equivalent)
CCNA and MCP/MSCE certifications (preferred)
Experience with Windows OS and scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash)
Structured cabling, rack & stack, fiber/optical testing
Storage device knowledge
Ticketing system experience
Familiarity with ITIL Framework (ITSM, Change Management)
Strong understanding of OSI Layers 1–3
Experience with copper and fiber optic cabling
OSHA30 or higher certification
