Deputy Chief Executive – Corporate & Communities
South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse District Councils are entering an exciting period of change, and they are seeking a Deputy Chief Executive – Corporate & Communities to guide cultural transition and manage competing priorities. The role involves leading transformation across the councils, providing strategic advice, and representing the councils in high-profile discussions.

Responsibilities
Guide cultural transition, manage competing priorities, and ensure resilience across corporate services and community functions
Work closely with senior officers and elected members, acting as a trusted advisor and strategic leader
Lead transformation and cultural change across the two councils and wider regional area
Provide strategic advice to both Cabinets and senior leaders
Represent the councils in high-profile discussions from planning inspectors to government officials
Oversee emergency planning and safeguarding responsibilities
Qualification
Required
Proven track record in a broad portfolio of service areas
Change management experience
People leadership experience
Corporate transformation experience
Experience of working in complex, politically sensitive environments, ideally within local government
Exceptional people skills
Cultural awareness
Ability to influence at the highest level
Strategic vision
Resilience to deliver under pressure
