Mercy is seeking a Principal – Enterprise AI Architecture, who will serve as the top AI Architect responsible for the design, orchestration, governance, and evolution of the enterprise AI architecture. This role will lead the strategic direction for AI systems across various domains and ensure architectural alignment, driving enterprise-wide standards for AI-related decisions.

Responsibilities

Accountable for the design, orchestration, governance, and evolution of the enterprise AI architecture
Lead the strategic direction for AI systems across clinical, operational, and business domains
Develop scalable, ethical, and federated agentic AI frameworks
Ensure architectural alignment across Mercy’s federated model
Drive enterprise-wide standards
Act as the chief advisor and steward for all AI-related architectural decisions

Qualification

Required

7 years of experience in AI/ML solution design, development, and architecture
3 years of experience leading enterprise architecture or large-scale AI systems
Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, AI, or related field with demonstrated ongoing education and personal development

Preferred

Demonstrated experience with agentic AI or autonomous systems
Strong knowledge of AI/ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch), cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), and containerization
Proven ability to lead architectural governance and create reference models
Deep understanding of security, privacy, and compliance frameworks
Effective communicator with ability to translate technical architecture to business and clinical leaders
Proficiency in Project/Product Management and Agile methodologies
Collaborative leadership with a servant ethos; capable of influencing across a federated organization
