WATER RESOURCE CONTROL ENGINEER

The State Water Resources Control Board is dedicated to preserving and enhancing California's water resources. They are seeking a Water Resource Control Engineer to oversee the investigation, remediation, and closure of polluted sites, as well as manage waste management units and maintain health and safety training.

Required

Candidates must possess essential personal qualifications including integrity, initiative, dependability, good judgment, the ability to work cooperatively with others, and the ability to perform the assigned duties of the class
If the position requires driving, you must possess a current and valid driver's license
Must have Water Resource Control Engineer list, transfer, or reinstatement eligibility and be reachable on the certification list
An applicant with a college degree obtained outside the United States that does meet accreditation standards must have education records evaluated by a credentials evaluation service

You are required to complete employment history on the application form (STD. 678), including work experience, dates, hours worked, contact names and phone numbers of supervisors on the state application

Preferred

Project management knowledge and/or experience
Oral and written communication knowledge and/or experience
Collaboration knowledge and/or experience working in teams; leading teams; managing group discussions; and integrating multiple different ideas and views to make a recommendation or to facilitate a decision
Knowledge of contaminant fate and transport in environmental media (water, soil, soil vapor, air)
Knowledge and/or experience in preparing, evaluating, and reviewing engineering work plans, designs, and reports
Knowledge and/or experience in water quality laws, regulations, policies, plans, and guidance, especially as related to environmental protection
Knowledge and/or experience in investigation, mitigation, and remediation technologies for polluted sites
Knowledge and/or experience in design, construction, operation, and closure of engineered landfill systems
Knowledge and/or experience in risk assessment and management principles, such as the basis and use of the San Francisco Bay Regional Water Quality Control Board's Environmental Screening Levels
