Responsibilities
Answers incoming telephone calls promptly and professionally
Transfers calls accordingly
Welcomes all visitors into the building and politely directs them to their desired destinations
Ensures that all visitors to the center sign in and out when they arrive at and depart from the center
Demonstrates knowledge regarding the center’s crisis codes, such as fire, cardiac arrest, bomb threats, and patient elopements, and is able to announce them correctly on the loudspeaker when directed to do so
Maintains the Elopement Risk book, which contains pictures and relevant information regarding residents who have been assessed to be at risk for elopement from the center
Monitors residents who leave the center through the lobby and notifies the supervisor immediately if a resident in the Elopement Book is attempting to leave the center
Ensures that the lobby is clean and tidy at all times
Ensures that the center’s most recent annual survey results are available in the lobby to all staff, visitors, and customers at all times
Demonstrates knowledge of the rights and dignity of residents, staff, and community and applies this knowledge while on the job
Maintains open and productive communication systems with peer, families, vendors and other staff
Qualification
Required
At least one year of reception, administrative assistant or secretarial experience
Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
Ability to read, write and speak English daily
Proficient computer skills
Preferred
Other languages helpful but not required
