Mid LevelHenry North is seeking a Warehouse Automation Specialist to serve as the technical and solutioning expert supporting their sales organization and customers across East Michigan. The role involves evaluating customer operations, designing automation solutions, and coordinating project execution to ensure successful implementation.

Responsibilities
Partner with sales teams to evaluate and qualify warehouse automation opportunities
Conduct on-site operational assessments of customer facilities and workflows
Review customer requirements, applications, throughput needs, space constraints, and growth plans
Act as the technical subject-matter expert in customer meetings and presentations
Design and recommend warehouse automation solutions including:
Conveyor systems
Pallet and case racking
Vertical Lift Modules (VLM)
AS/RS systems
AGVs / AMRs and related automation technologies
Develop layouts, drawings, and concepts using CAD tools
Ensure solutions are practical, scalable, and aligned with customer ROI objectives
Identify and coordinate appropriate internal teams and external vendors or integrators
Support bid development, pricing inputs, and proposal documentation
Collaborate with project management during implementation phases
Assist with monitoring installation progress, resolving issues, and ensuring project success
Work closely with sales, engineering, project management, and vendor partners
Provide technical guidance and product education to sales teams as needed
Stay current on warehouse automation technologies, vendors, and industry trends
Qualification
Required
CAD experience is mandatory
Strong knowledge of warehouse operations and automation systems
Experience with material handling solutions such as conveyor, racking, VLM, AS/RS, AGVs, or similar technologies
Ability to translate customer needs into practical technical solutions
Comfortable working in a field-based role with frequent customer site visits
Must reside in East Michigan and be willing to travel within the territory
Preferred
Engineering background or degree (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or related) strongly preferred but not required
Prior experience in material handling, warehouse automation, or systems integration
Experience supporting sales teams in a technical or solutioning capacity
