Monkeypaw Productions Development Intern, Summer 2026 (Gold Rising)

Academy Museum of Motion Pictures is offering a Development Intern position with Monkeypaw Productions as part of the Academy Gold Program. The role involves assisting the Development team with various tasks, including providing feedback on submissions, conducting research, and supporting general office operations.

Responsibilities

Support the Development team to further Monkeypaw’s mission
Complete coverage and deliver feedback on incoming submissions and internal materials in a timely manner (Film & TV scripts, decks, treatments, graphic novels, books, etc.)
Conduct research assignments and contribute to ideating and sharpening creative lists (including recommending valuable talent)
Take notes during internal/external pitch meetings and weekly department meetings
Update the creative databases/grids frequently with talent names, reps (agents/managers), samples, and credits
Receive exposure to the duties of a creative producer
Own day-to-day office tasks that contribute to general business operations (including but not limited to welcoming guests at the office, running errands, binding scripts for executives, occasional scheduling and phone coverage, etc.)
Watch and provide notes on visual materials (i.e. shorts, shows, films)
Complete other tasks as assigned with an adaptable and flexible energy

Required

Enthusiastic and creative mindset
Ability to assist the team with various day-to-day tasks relating to Development
Availability to work from June 8 - September 4, 2026
Ability to work 24-27 hours per week in-office in Los Angeles
Experience or interest in film, television, and digital platforms
Strong communication skills for taking notes during meetings
Ability to conduct research assignments
Experience with providing feedback on creative materials
Ability to update creative databases/grids frequently
Willingness to own day-to-day office tasks
Adaptable and flexible energy
Submission of a resume and cover letter
Cover letter must include a description of interest in genre, a niche piece of film or TV recently watched, what was enjoyed about it, and why it resonated
