PROJECT MANAGEMENT ANALYST 3
Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of HII, is the largest industrial employer in Virginia and specializes in designing and building U.S. Navy nuclear aircraft carriers and submarines. The Project Management Analyst 3 will oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects, serving as a liaison between project management and various teams while developing mechanisms for monitoring project progress and resolving issues.

Responsibilities
Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management
Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports
Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives
Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients
Support SSN(X) and USW project management efforts as well as other projects and operational responsibilities within the organization
Support multiple and complex projects, be resourceful and have solid project management skills, can multi-task various administrative tasks with minimal guidance from management while maintaining first-time quality
Communicate with internal parties and possibly some external parties including other Industry Partners, and also Government teams like PMS 351, and NAVSEA 05 to achieve project objectives
Support development and tracking of key program metrics
Development of POA&Ms for technical work plans
Cost accounting and hour reporting
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of relevant exempt experience; Master's Degree and 4 years of relevant professional experience
One of the following may be used as equivalent to Bachelor's Degree to meet minimum qualifications: NNS Apprentice School graduate, Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate, Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience, Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience, High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience, High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience
Strong organizational skills
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Ability to work and communicate with internal parties and possibly some external parties including other Industry Partners, and also Government teams like PMS 351, and NAVSEA 05 to achieve project objectives
Experience with MS Project
Experience with long term and complex integrated projects
Preferred
The candidate is expected to be granted and maintain SECRET clearance for this position
PM certification (e.g., Agile or PMP) is a plus
Knowledge of Submarine Design, CVN 68 Class and/or CVN 78 Class design is a plus
