Endowed Chair of Pediatric Diabetes Research

The University of Kentucky College of Medicine is seeking an accomplished Associate Professor or Professor to serve as the Endowed Chair of Pediatric Diabetes Research within the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Endocrinology. This prestigious faculty appointment offers an exceptional opportunity to lead innovative diabetes research and advance pediatric clinical care in collaboration with the Barnstable Brown Diabetes Center.

Responsibilities

Advance basic, translational, or clinical diabetes research within the Division of Endocrinology
Foster collaborative research efforts aligned with the BBDC
Provide both in-person and remote clinical care for children and adolescents with endocrine disorders
Serve as an attending physician, supervising students and residents in inpatient and outpatient settings
Contribute to the education and mentorship of medical learners
Participate in on-call coverage for the pediatric endocrinology service

Qualification

Clinical degreeBoard certified in PediatricsBoard certified in EndocrinologyResearch productivityAcademic leadership

Required

Clinical degree (MD, DO, MD/PhD, or MBBS)
Completion of Pediatric Residency and Fellowship from an accredited program
Demonstrated record of research productivity and academic leadership
Board eligible/certified in Pediatrics and Endocrinology
Current licensure, or eligibility for licensure, to practice medicine in the state of Kentucky
Eligible for academic appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor

Preferred

Expertise in the use of emerging technologies in diabetes management, such as advanced insulin delivery systems and artificial intelligence
